Rooted in the historic land of undivided West Dinajpur, shaped by freedom struggles, the Tebhaga movement, and resistance to injustice, the Dakshin Dinajpur District Press Club embodies a legacy of courage and collective resolve. Established in 1977 amid geographical isolation and limited media access, the club united reporters committed to truth and public service. It became a vital platform for professional solidarity. After the 1992 bifurcation of West Dinajpur, the club adopted its present name while preserving its shared heritage. Despite years without a permanent home, perseverance led to the inauguration of its own building in 2008. Over time, the Press Club expanded into a cultural and social institution, organizing seminars, festivals, sports, social service, and professional training. As it approaches its Golden Jubilee in 2026, the club stands as a symbol of journalism, culture, unity, and service.
